Winter Pressures:

Changes to the Urgent Appointment System

We’re operating a new system to manage urgent appointment requests during the Winter period. All urgent requests will be passed to the doctor to allocate.

Depending on the nature of the problem the doctor may offer an urgent appointment, a phone consultation or a routine appointment.

The more information you can give the receptionist about your problem, the more this will help the doctor offer you the right service.

Once the doctor has decided, you will be phoned back

Please note that in an urgent appointment the doctor will only discuss your urgent ailment. If you need to discuss anything else, you will need to book a routine appointment.

You can also attend a walk-in centre,

get treatment from your pharmacist or call NHS 111 for advice.

Did you know that you can now access online features such as ordering repeat prescriptions. You can also register for patient access where you can book appointments with the GPs and Healthcare Assistant online and also view aspects of your medical record. If you would like to have access to this function please contact reception. Alternatively you can download the information leaflet and print the registration for medical records access form from the online access page and bring them along with your ID to the Practice reception for verification.

A copy of the Practice of the Practice Leaflet and Newsletter can be downloaded here.

Access & Parking

Disabled patient facilities are available at this practice (ramp, toilet etc.) and there is a car parking area (cars are parked at owner’s risk).

To enable ambulance access please do not park down the centre of the car park.

Safer in Town

St Helens Safer in Town Scheme

We have signed up to the Safer in Town Scheme that is provided for vulnerable people by St Helens Council. We want to ensure that people feel safe in their community and that they have somewhere where they can seek some assistance if they don’t. The Safer in Town Scheme is provided as a voluntary service by shops, libraries and public service centres across the St Helens area. You do not have to be a registered patient to access the scheme here at the Practice. If you feel that you may benefit from this scheme and wish to sign up, please complete the application form. Completed forms can be returned directly to St Helens Council or you can return them to the Practice and we will send them on your behalf. For more information regarding the scheme please follow the link to the Safer in Town website http://safer.sthelens.gov.uk/news/2010/11/04/safer-in-town/.
